Soroptimist International of Denver
About Us:
Denver’s Soroptimist International Club was born on January 23, 1939. The invocation ceremony was held at the historical Brown Palace Hotel.
Today’s SI of Denver is a growing club that meets for business and program meetings on the second Sunday of every month at a club members house. For the latest address and date, please email info@soroptimistdenver.org .
SI of Denver presents two awards to women in the Denver community each year:
1. Women’s Opportunity Award gives a woman the resources she needs to improve her education, skills, and employment prospects. Eligible applicants must be a woman who provides the primary financial support for their families, and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocation/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
2. Violet Richardson Award is given to a young woman whose volunteer activities make the community and world a better place. The award is in honor of the president of the first Soroptimist Club, Violet Richardson, a woman of action, whose indomitable spirit and sense of personal responsibility were demonstrated by her lifelong commitment to volunteering in her community.
